I posted a picture of it on my Facebook page and one of my fans commented that it looked like a field of pansies. So I named it the Pansy Blanket. This is another quick and easy crochet pattern that can be made in a weekend. I started it on a Friday evening and finished it Sunday morning. Easy peasy. Unfortunately I cannot find this green color anymore that I made the edge in so that will have to substituted unless you can find it.
Its still a heavy blanket but not as heavy as it would have been with a solid pattern.
Here is a close up picture of the pattern

This pattern is available as an instant download on my new website or my Etsy store!
How many skeins did you use to make this blanket?
ReplyDeleteI used 4 large skeins for the blanket and 1 large skein for the border. thanks!
DeleteThank you so much for this post. I have been dying to see what this yarn would look like made into something. I call it Mardi Gras because it reminds me of King Cake. So sad to hear you cannot find the green yarn anymore, it is the icing on the cake. Now I know I want one for myself from the Summer Day yarn. I'm working on one right now for my granddaughter using little petunias and found this while searching for a trim color myself. White gets dingy so easily I don't want to use it. Please post if you ever find another green to match the yarn used here.
ReplyDeleteHi Heidi! A couple months ago they had about 10 skeins of the green pop up again and I bought them and listed them and they sold in about an hour. I keep looking!! Also the new Bernat colors are coming out April 1st so I will have all of those in my Etsy shop. They are beautiful!! You can see samples of the new colors on my more recent post
DeleteHey, Kay. I hope you are still checking this post. I can only find the 3.5 oz skeins of this, which I think are only about 85 yards. I think Bernat has 10 oz skeins and maybe when you say large skeins this is what you mean, so I think I'll need 12 skeins of the 3.5 oz. Just wanted your thoughts. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYes I meant the big 300 gram skeins. I just like them better so you don't have to keep tying new skeins on. I think your right on the count of little skeins. But keep in mind if you crochet tight; you may need a little more. Please post a picture of your blanket on my facebook wall when you are done!! I love seeing them
